Reason for change

Complaint:
Cracking, clunking noise when braking the vehicle to a stop or when moving off, when the suspension compresses and rebounds at the front axle.

Sometimes a single jolt can also be felt at the steering wheel.

Cause:
Stick/slip effect in sliding piece of steering coupling.

Remedy:
Replacement of steering coupling (A 166 460 05 10).

Note:
The last two digits on the bar code of the good part should be equal or higher than "03" (please refer to the attached illustration).
