Since September 1982 production, a kickdown solenoid valve with a plug connection is installed in the subject transmission (B, Figure 1). The previous version had a screw connection (A, Figure 1).
On factory reconditioned transmissions either valve may be installed. Therefore, during repair procedures it may be necessary to modify the terminal end of the electrical connection for this valve, depending on which version is installed (see Parts Information). The correct terminal end must be soldered to the wire..
