SUBJECT: MODIFIED DELIVERY VALVE HOLDER FOR MW INJECTION PUMP ENGINES 616 AND 617

Delivery valves with a modified delivery valve holder are now installed in MW injection pumps on engines 616 and 617. The MW injection pumps with the modified delivery valves can be identified by the Bosch production code numbers starting from 248 (August 1982) on the type plate of the pump (arrow, Fig.1). When the former delivery valves are used up, only the modified delivery valves will be supplied from the parts depots.
When installing the delivery valve, note that the previous and modified delivery valve holders must be assembled in different ways.

- Install the previous version delivery valve holder with the O-ring groove (arrow) toward the pump element side.

- Install the modified version delivery valve holder with the O-ring groove (arrow) toward the delivery valve side.
