Power Steering - Mounting Bolt Torque Specifications

SUBJECT: TIGHTENING POWER STEERING MOUNTING BOLTS SERIES 126
On series 126 vehicles, the power steering mounting bolts must be tightened to 70-80 N-m when performing maintenance jobs (according to the Maintenance Manual, Job No. 4671).
IMPORTANT: After replacing the left longitudinal frame member or the front end (due to accident damage), the mounting bolts must be initially tightened to 100 +/- 10 N-m. If the power steering is replaced in the course of a repair job, the mounting bolts must be tightened to 70-80 N-m (as in the case of maintenance jobs).
