B. New Tailgate Window Frame with Butyl Sealant Model 123.193
Since April 1982 production, a new rubber window frame with butyl sealant between the frame and tailgate glass is used (arrow, Figure 1).
With this new frame neither M-B Sealing Compound nor sealing tape are required as additional sealers. Also, when fitting the frame to the glass, do not use glycerin or water as a lubricant.

C. M-B Glass Sealing Compound Use All Models (except w/butyl sealant frame)
After installation, the windshield, rear window and rear side windows (in station wagon) should be additionally sealed using M-B Sealing Compound between the sealing frame and glass, as well as between the sealing frame and body.
The use of a curved nozzle (Figure 2) will make the sealant application easier. The curved nozzle can be selfmade in the following way:
Heat the end of the nozzle using a hot air gun (or similar) set to low heat position (approx. 125~C (257~F)). Bend it against a firm support and hold in this position until cool.
