Antenna: Description and Operation

Function of automatic antenna





The antenna can be moved into 3 different positions with the antenna switch when the radio is switched on.





Antenna switch in middle position
The antenna extends automatically approx. 30 cm when the radio is switched on. By briefly operating the switch, the antenna can be extended to the position which offers best reception.

Note: Circuitry no longer fitted effective model year 1991 (USA)

When the radio is switched on, the antenna is extended fully to the end position.

Antenna switch locked in extended position
The antenna extends to its full length.

Antenna switch locked in retracted position
The antenna does not extend, e.g. when playing a cassette or the antenna retracts fully if it was extended.
If the ignition or the radio is switched off, the antenna retracts fully.

Note:
If the Hirschmann antenna Auta 6000 U is replaced by the new antenna Auta 6000 EL, the following work requires to be performed:



1 Install adapter cable (1) between previous connection and the new antenna.



2 Remove antenna switch (3) and fit contact bridge (2) onto connector 1 and 2.
3 Install antenna switch (3).
