SUBJECT: LOWER COVER, INTERMEDIATE PLATE AND GASKET TRANSMISSION 722.4


As of April 1985 production, the lower cover, large intermediate plate, and gasket have been modified and installed on transmission 722.4.

The modified lower cover can be installed in earlier 722.4 transmissions only together with the large intermediate plate and new gasket. The new intermediate plate and new gasket may not be used in conjunction with the previous version lower cover. For further information, see Service Microfiche Automatic Trans mission 722.4, job no.. 27-004.
NOTE: The front cover gasket can be used repeatedly, as long as it is not damaged. Do not apply sealant to the sealing surface. If sealant enters oil ducts, it will cause shifting problems and also damage the transmission.
