The front crankshaft radial seal ring in engines with the double roller timing chain must be installed with a special installation sleeve, part no. 902 589 00 14 00.

The previous special tool, part no. 102 589 00 14 00, used for single roller timing chain applications, can also be used in double roller timing chain engines by supplementing the sleeve with a washer, part no. 102 589 01 14 04 (04, Figure 1). The washer must be slipped on the sleeve prior to installing the crankshaft radial seal ring.

Installation in engines with the single roller timing chain remains the same.

The previous special tool, part no. 102 589 00 14 00 is replaced by the new version part no. 902 589 00 14 00.
