SUBJECT: CHECKING POLY-V-BELT DURING MAINTENANCE SERVICE ALL ENGINES WITH SINGLE BELT DRIVE


To detect any wear of the Poly-V-Belt at an early stage, it is very important that it be closely inspected every 15,000 miles during the maintenance service*.

On diesel engines, also the belt tensioner should be visually inspected for proper seating and wear at this time.

Follow the illustrations and descriptions in Maintenance Manual Volume 2, Supplement 6, job number 1351 in order to assess the condition of the belt.
