This is a listing of current approved replacement summer and winter tires, steel rims and snow chains. It will be revised from time to time to add or delete products according to the latest information received from DBAG. We recommended that only approved tires and chains be used on Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
NOTE:
Mount tire with identification rib facing outward. The maximum permissible speed for winter tires is 100 mph (160 km/h) despite "T" speed rating.

B. Approved Replacement Summer and Winter Tires - 15" Rims
15" Summer Tires
15" Winter Tires
NOTE:
- It must be insured that load and speed capability of VR tires are sufficient for models 107, 124, 126 and 201. Individual tire manufacturers can confirm this. This also applies to the new ZR speed rated tires. The present VR rated tires can now be identified as were the previous standard tires (e.g. 205/65 R 15 94 V).
- When replacing tires, ensure that only tires with the tire/rim match point are used. The match points are designed to keep tire/wheel out-of-roundness within specified tolerances (See Match Points, page 5).
- Before mounting wheels, always clean the contact surfaces of the rims and axles, of dirt and corrosion.
CAUTION!
In case of a wheel change (e.g., light alloy rims for steel rims), be certain that the spare wheel bolts are visibly kept with the spare wheel, to ensure proper combination of wheel and bolt.
Match Points
Match points are used to reduce vehicle vibration at highway speeds caused by runout. The tolerance for vertical runout is 0.8mm.
The tire is properly installed when the match point on the rim of the light alloy wheel (Fig. 1) and the match point an the tire (Fig. 2) are closest to one another (ie: the tire/wheel assembly then has minimum runout).
C. Revised Tire Speed Ratings
D. Factory Steel Rims
In case of customer requests for installation of winter tires on more economical steel rims, please refer to the table for available rim sizes and matching hub caps.
