NOTE: This test requires the use of a "socket box" type testing adapter.
1. With the engine off disconnect the EDS control unit and check resistance between sockets 14 and 9 of the adapter box. See Fig. 51. for resistance curve.
2. If the resistance values are within specifications, proceed with step 3. If they are not, check for and repair any open circuit. If no open circuit is present, replace the coolant temperature sensor.
3. With the ignition on, sensor connector disconnected, and the EDS control unit connected, check the voltage between sockets 14 (-) and 9 (+) of the test adapter. If the values match the values listed in the table below, the system test ok and the test is over. If the values do not match the values listed below, replace the EDS control unit.
