MODIFIED COOLANT EXPANSION TANK CAP
As of November 1987 production, a modified cap is installed on the coolant expansion tank. Its opening pressure is 1.4 bar (previously 1.2 bar). As a result the maximum coolant temperature increases to approximately 130°C (265°F) with an anti-freeze protection to -30°C (-22°F). This modified cap has the stamped identification number 140 and a blue dot in its center.
Effective Serial Number
The modified pressure cap can also be installed in earlier production vehicles equipped with a coolant expansion tank.
Pressure caps without guide ring (item B, Figure 2) are installed at the time of production.
For Subsequent installation only the cap with guide ring is available.
