Radiator: Service and Repair

Radiator Removal and Installation

Preceeding work

1. Open hood to vertical position.
2. Remove bottom engine copmartment panel.
3. Drain coolant from radiator.

Radiator Removal






If automatic transmission fitted: unscrew oil lines at radiator, screw on, 20 Nm, (step 1).
Coolant hoses detach, attach (step 2).
Air scoop (air filter) remove, install (step 3).
Fan cowl ring (6) detach, attach (step 4).
If air conditioning fitted: strut (1) and transverse support (2) unscrew, screw on (step 5).
Front bumper on Model 201 remove, fit on (step 6).
If air conditioning fitted: condensor (3) of air conditioning with auxiliary fans raise, insert (step 7).
Radiator (4) with fan shroud (5) remove, install (step 8).
Fan cowl (5) take off radiator (5), fit on (step 9).
Installation in the reverse order.
If automatic transmission fitted check oil level.
Cooling system test for leaks.



1. If automatic transmission fitted; unscrew oil lines at radiator.
2. Detach coolant hoses at radiator and the coolant pump.
3. Detach air scoop from air filter.
4. Remove fan cowl ring (2) by withdrawing locking pin (1) and turning the fan cowl ring (2) to the left. Place fan cowl ring on the fan.
5. Unscrew strut, unscrew cross support and place to the side with the engine hood cable connected.
6. Remove front bumper before unscrewing condensor from radiator.
7. If air conditioning fitted; raise condensor of air conditioning with auxiliary fan.
8. Withdraw flat springs upward and lift radiator up and out of the rubber gromments of the cross support.
9. Take fan shroud of radiator.

Installation

1. Installation is reverse of removal.

Installation Notes:
The mounting studs of the radiator must be introduced into the rubber gromments of the cross support.
When reinstalling the fan cowl ring, ensure the four engaging points are correctly located

2. If automatic transmission fitted; reconnect oil lines; check oil level.
Tightening torque 20 Nm.

3. Test cooling system for leaks.
