MODIFIED END PLATE ON ALTERNATOR AND MODIFIED ALTERNATOR WIRING HARNESS MODELS 126.024/025





As of the chassis end number below, the alternator was modified by turning the rear end plate 90°. The wiring harness to the alternator was modified accordingly through the use of a new (bent) connector for terminal 30 (Figure 1).

The case of repair of vehicles prior to production phase-in, the previous wiring harness (straight connector at terminal 30) must be installed.

Note:
When installing the previous harness, relocate the black tape band (arrow, Figure 2) 3/4 of an inch towards the battery. Then shift the wiring harness towards the alternator until the harness forms a slight bow at the alternator. The black tape band must be on the engine side of the clamp.
