Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair



Removal







1 Remove vacuum line (73) on brake assembly.







2 Loosen cable strap (arrow) and push vacuum line through bracing wall.
3 Detach vacuum distributor (see arrow) on nonreturn valves (74).
4 Loosen bayonet lock on non-return valves (74) and pull valves out of bracing wall.
5 Unscrew bracket for fuel lines (75) on bracing wall.







6 Remove fastening bolts (76) on bracing wall and lift off bracing wall upward.

7 Loosen cable straps (see arrow) on bracket (77).

8 Pull 5-pole coupler from pre-resistance group (Fig.) and unscrew holder (77) on side member. Then unscrew screws (78) and remove pre-resistance group (Fig.) from holder.




Installation







9 Screw pre-resistance group onto retaining bracket (77) with bolts (78).







10 Secure retaining bracket (77) with pre-resistance group on side rail (righthand steering on wheel house sheet metal at the right) and connect 5-pole coupler to pre-resistance group.







11 Secure main cable harness with cable straps (see arrow).







12 Fit bracing wall and install with bolts (76).







13 Fit fuel lines with bracket (75) to bracing wall.
14 Fit non-return valves (74) to bracing wall and connect vacuum distributor (see arrow) to non-return valves.
15 Fit vacuum line to brake unit.
16 Check function of automatic heating system.
