DELETION OF CENTERING SLEEVE ENGINES 601, 602 AND 603





As of November 1989 production, the centering sleeve (067, Figure 1), to keep the injection timing advance mechanism in place during removal of the injection pump, is no longer installed. The item is removed as a spare part and is now available as a special tool.

When removing the injection pump, the centering sleeve must be installed after removal of the vacuum pump, thus holding the injection timing advance mechanism in its original position, and eliminating jumping of the timing chain.

Note:
When removing the vacuum pump, the gasket 601 238 03 80 must be installed.
