Distributor: Service and Repair

Ignition Distributor:

REMOVAL
1. Turn engine to TDC #1 firing.
2. Ensure that distributor rotor aligns with notch in distributor housing.
3. Remove distributor hold-down bolt.
4. Remove distributor from engine.

INSTALLATION
1. Ensure that engine is on TDC #1 firing.
2. Align distributor rotor with distributor cap screw which is clockwise from alignment notch.
3. Install distributor. Be sure that distributor rotor now aligns with notch in housing. If not, remove distributor and re-align.
4. Install distributor hold-down bolt and torque to 14 Ft. Lbs.
5. Reinstall distributor cap.
