Special Instructions For Becker Radios
3. Special Instructions for Becker Radios
3.1 The Becker radios are supplied with two anti-theft CODE cards as known from the previous model year. In addition to these cards, the new radio features a third card labeled "ID-CARD". This card lists the serial number of the trunk-mounted receiver/amplifier only and is not required for radio recoding.
3.2 During replacement of the trunk-mounted receiver/amplifier section of the Becker radio, do not force it into its mounting bracket. If the unit becomes jammed, remove it and push any obstructing cables out of the way before reinsertion. Do not force the 8-pole cable into the receiver/amplifier, it is keyed and will only fit one way.
3.3 Before replacing any Becker radio components due to a control problem where the radio will not respond upon turning it on, reset the unit by disconnecting and connecting the vehicle battery. If the radio still will not operate, continue troubleshooting.
3.4 See S.I. 58/47a, 82/47a for the Becker head unit removal instruction for M.Y. 1991 Model 129 vehicles.
