Engine - Install Updated Crankcase Oil Baffle: Overview

SUBJECT: MODEL 126.134/135 WITH ENGINE 603.970 CRANKCASE OIL BAFFLE REPLACEMENT AND INSTALLATION


The rear crankcase oil baffle on the models listed below must be replaced with a modified version during the vehicles next scheduled maintenance or repair visit.

Important: Check if work has already been performed. Modified engines are identified by a white paint mark next to the engine number. These engines are not affected by this S.I.

Note: During repair procedures, an additional front crankcase oil baffle must be installed on engines produced before engine end number 001991.

The procedure for replacing and/or installing oil baffles and all applicable parts and labor information is described in the attached Work Instruction number 270, Group 01.

Operation: Crankcase oil baffle, install (includes engine compartment cover R&R).
