SUBJECT: CIS-E CONTROL UNIT WITH MALFUNCTION CODE 16 FEDERAL VERSION VEHICLES MODEL YEAR 1990 WITH ENGINE 103 MODEL 124, 126 AND 201
When retrieving failure codes from the CIS-E control unit, it is possible for malfunction code 16 to be stored, even if there is no problem traceable to this malfunction code.
If test steps 21.0 to 22.0, according to the model year 1990 introduction manual do not confirm any malfunctions in the respective emission control system and/or components, the malfunction code 16 should be erased.
