Reading Fault Codes (LH Jetronic)

Test Connection For Diagnosis:






Be cautious of all WARNINGS listed under the "Test Conditions" column of each System Test.

Connect Impulse Counter According To Connection Diagram.
LED "U-BATT" light should display.
If not, check:
a) Voltage Supply
b) Fuse of impulse counter.

Reading Stored Fault Codes.
a) Ignition: ON
b) Press start button for 2 - 4 seconds
c) Record impulse display
d) Press start button again for 2 - 4 seconds
e) Record impulse display
repeat steps d) and e) until the first impulse display is repeated

Erasing Stored Fault Codes 1)
a) Press start button for 2 - 4 seconds (impulse displayed)
b) Wait 3 seconds, then press start button 6 - 8 seconds, this
will erase the previously displayed fault code.
c) Each fault code must be erased individually.
1) Erasing of stored fault codes must begin within 20 seconds after reading the code.

Preparation For Fault Code Readout Of ABS/ASR Control Unit
1. For diagnosis, connect the impulse counter and adaptor to test connection, (impulse readout 38-pole) according to connection diagram.
NOTE: Connect yellow wire for impulse readout of ABS/ASR control unit to socket 6, or for base module, to socket 8.
2. Read out fault code memory for ABS/ASR control unit and base module.
3. Ignition: ON
