As of April 1991, a modified front transmission cover (Figure 1) has been phased into production. The seal ring is now pressed into the transmission cover, and the bearing tube is bolted to the transmission housing together with the transmission cover.

The tightening torque of the bolts has been changed to 25 ± 3 Nm (previously 20 ± 3 Nm).

The modified front transmission cover may also be installed in transmissions prior to production phase in.
