Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

Coolant/Intake Air Temperature Sensor:

The intake air temperature sensor which is located in the induction system measures incoming ambient air temperature. Information concerning the incoming air temperature is sent to the EZL control unit and is used to calculate necessary corrections to the ignition timing. High ambient temperatures will retard ignition timing.
Timing correction occurs as follows:

^ 90°F - 1° retard
^ 104° - 5° retard
^ 122° - 7° retard
