Installing Overhead Controller
1. Unpack contents of installation kit and compare to parts list at end of work instructions. Read through entire work instruction procedure to familiarize yourself with sequence of instructions and parts. Remove Owner's Operating Guide from kit and place in Owner's Literature pouch.2. Disconnect and cover negative battery terminal.
3. Remove interior rearview mirror.
4. Remove mirror bracket and discard third sun visor assembly (model 124 only).
5. Remove and disconnect dome lamp.
6. Mark center of dome lamp opening on headliner. Locate and mark measurements according to templates in kit. Note: Proper location of template is important for correct location of Overhead controller (OHC).
7. Drill three 5.0 mm pilot holes. Enlarge center hole to 19 mm. Note: Use caution when drilling to avoid the wires behind the headliner.
8. Place mounting bracket inside dome lamp opening with retaining nipples pointing upwards.
9. Disassemble OHC by removing the two T10 screws on the back. Place rear plate of OHC into position on headliner so that it lines up with the bracket. Secure rear plate to bracket with screws (arrows, Fig. 1).
10. Guide connector from OHC through large center opening of rear plate. Remove tape from foam tube, connect overhead controller connector to vehicle harness and re-tape foam tube (Fig. 1). Secure front housing of overhead controller to rear plate with two T10 screws (from step 9).
11. Reconnect and install dome lamp.
12. Reinstall interior rearview mirror bracket (model 124 only).
13. Reinstall interior rearview mirror.
