B. Models 124.090/290
Version 1 (w/o locating notches)1. Open right cargo compartment door.
2. Remove rear windshield washer reservoir. Disconnect electrical connection.
3. Remove both cable ties that secure the radio harness to the vehicle sheet metal (it may be necessary to slightly reroute the harness).
4. Guide transmitter - receiver bracket assembly through reservoir opening. Position bracket in opening as depicted in Figure 16. Use measurements A and B as a reference. Clamp bracket into place.
5. Punch and drill two 4.5 mm holes that will be in alignment with the phillips head screw holes just beneath cargo door ribs and located halfway between the screw holes and the opening (arrows, Fig. 16). Be certain that you drill through both the frame and the transmitter - receiver bracket. Remove clamp and bracket from opening. Remove any metal shavings and apply zinc dust paint to bare metal edges.
6. Place two rubber strips on the bottom and top transmitter - receiver brackets. Assemble bracket.
7. Install transmitter - receiver into bracket so that the transmitter - receiver connections will be facing the rear of the vehicle and that the harness pin connector is on top.
8. Connect one end of the antenna lead cable to the transmitter - receiver.
9. Guide transmitter - receiver/bracket assembly into place as per Figure 16 and secure using number 8 sheet metal screws. Ensure that the transmitter - receiver DOES NOT CONTACT THE FUEL FILLER NECK OVERFLOW HOSE.
10. Disconnect the radio antenna lead from antenna splitter. Check for continuity from the antenna mast tube to vehicle chassis with an Ohm meter. If the nominal value is [greater than] 0.3 Ohm, loosen the lower antenna mounting screw and then tighten the mast tube nut until the value is [less than or equal to] 0.3 Ohm. Tighten lower mounting screw. Reconnect radio antenna lead to splitter.
Note:
Failure to perform this step will lead to poor telephone performance and/or interference to other vehicle electronic systems.
11. Connect other end of antenna lead from TRU to "telefon" connection of antenna splitter (guide cable under frame).
12. Connect 1-pole female connector from telephone harness to 1-pole male connector on antenna (behind 4-pole connector).
13. Connect harness connection to TRU and secure with thumb screws.
14. Reconnect and install rear windshield washer reservoir.
15. Close cargo door.
Note:
It may be necessary to remove some of the rib material in the area of the two fastening screws for the cargo door to close properly
16. Install 8A fuse in auxiliary fuse box.
17. Reconnect negative battery terminal.
18. Program telephone.
19. Recode radio.
20. Test function.

4. Guide transmitter - receiver bracket through reservoir opening. Position bracket in opening as depicted in Figure 18. Securely clamp bracket into place. The two semi-circular cut-outs on the bracket serve as locators for the mounting screws on panel. Position cut-outs over cargo panel mounting screws.
5. Punch and drill two 3 mm holes (arrows, Fig. 18). Be certain that you drill through both the frame and the transmitter - receiver bracket. Remove clamp and bracket from opening. Enlarge holes to 4.5 mm. Remove any metal shavings and apply zinc dust paint to bare metal edges.
