Distributor: Description and Operation

Ignition Distributor:

The ignition distributor conducts high voltage from the coil through the ignition rotor to the proper ignition wire located on the distributor cap. Components include the distributor housing, drive gear, rotor shaft, rotor, and distributor cap. It is mounted at the front of the engine. Each high tension terminal on the distributor cap incorporates a 1 kOhm suppression resistor.
