Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement:

1. Release pressure in cooling system. To perform this, open cover of coolant expansion tank.
2. Unplug engine coolant temperature sensor connector (X59/2).
3. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor (B11/2).
4. Replace seal (arrow).
5. Install in reverse order.
6. Check coolant level, top off if necessary.
7. Extract and reset fuel injection control module diagnostic trouble code memory.

NOTE: Stored trouble codes may be caused by detached cables or repair work.
