Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement:

1. Remove cover by pulling up.
2. Open expansion tank cap and release cooling system pressure.
3. Unplug coolant temperature sensor connector (X59/2).
4. Remove coolant temperature sensor (B11/2).
5. Replace seal (arrow).
6. Install in reverse order.
7. Run engine, check for coolant leaks.
8. Extract and reset fuel injection control module diagnostic trouble code memory.

NOTE: Stored trouble codes may be caused by detached cables or repair work.
