Test Oil Pressure
Test Oil Pressure
Removing, Installing
NOTE: The oil pressure can also be measured at the oil filter cap
1 Remove top part of air cleaner
2.1 Remove oil pressure sensor (B5) together with seal
2.2 Remove screw plug together with seal (6) at crankcase
3 Screw on connection fitting (5) together with seal (6) together with crankcase
4 Connect oil pressure gage (1)
- Connect pressure line (3) to connection fitting (5) and close T-valve (2).
Inspecting
5 Inspect oil level of engine
- if necessary adjust to correct level
6 Connect remote thermometer (9)
- Insert temperature sensor through dipstick guide tube (10) into the engine oil.
DANGER:
- Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury from bruises and burns if you hold your hand into engine when it is started or when it is running.
- Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off by itself.
- Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
- Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
- Hazard from contact with parts conducting high voltages.
- Do not touch parts which conduct high voltages. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. heart pacemakers) must not carry out any work on the ignition system.
7 Measure oil pressure
NOTE: Warm up engine to operating temperature (approx. 90 degrees C). At the operating temperature of the engine oil, the oil pressure at idle speed must not drop below 0.3 bar. When the throttle is blipped, the oil pressure must rise without any delay and reach at least 3 bar at an engine speed of 3000 rpm.
8 Install in the reverse order.
