1. OPEN CAMPAIGNS
2. RADIO CODES
1. Open Campaigns
We noticed that some dealers have not been performing open campaigns on vehicles. Due to the urgency to have open recalls completed as soon as possible, we will be providing you with an additional alert when a VMI is performed. The VMI screen will display "THIS VEHICLE HAS OPEN CAMPAIGN(S). PLEASE REVIEW" and will be effective September 1, 1994.
If the dealers review reveals that, in fact, campaign(s) are still open they should be completed immediately. If for any reason, this cannot be accomplished the same day, the customer has to be informed accordingly and an appointment for the completion of the campaign(s) should be made at this time.
If the records at the dealer indicate and/or inspection of the vehicle reveal that the campaign(s) are completed and the time elapsed between completion and V}!I review is more than 2 weeks, please inform Jill Houseworth, Customer Assistance Center, in writing.
We also reguest that a VMI be performed on every vehicle entering the dealer for service (not only for warranty repairs) to ensure that there are no open campaigns.
2. Radio Codes
As a reminder: Radio codes are now available on VMI, for details see Administration Message #360 dated 8/24/94. Therefore, do not pull radios or call Warranty Service for radio codes, check VMI first.
