A. MODIFIED ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM IN MODEL 140
As of November 1993, the parking brake adjustment mechanism known from models 124, 129 and 202, has been standardized and is now installed in model 140.
The adjustment procedure is the same as for model 202. Please refer to SMS. Repair Instructions, Model 202, Job no. 42-0540.
CAUTION!
Light alloy wheels must be removed.
Wheel bolt tightening torque (model 140): 150 Nm
Verification of which type of adjustment mechanism is installed can only be made by looking through a wheel bolt hole.
B. MODIFIED ADJUSTMENT SPECIFICATIONS IN MODELS 140 AND 202
Model 140
Due to the modified adjustment mechanism, the star wheel adjusters must be turned back 5-6 teeth after the brake shoes make contact.
Model 202
For comfort reasons, the star wheel adjusters must be turned back 15 teeth (previously 5-6 teeth) after the brake shoes make contact.
