Accelerator Pedal: Description and Operation

The accelerator pedal allows the driver to adjust the amount of engine output dependant upon varying power demands. As the pedal is pushed towards the floor the throttle linkage assembly is actuated, opening the two throttle valves and giving the electronic accelerator actuators a throttle position signal.
