DE-BURRING AND INSPECTION OF REAR AXLE VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (VSS) SENSOR MOUNTING BORES
Shown is a sample copy of a letter which will be mailed in the near future to all owners of vehicles within the Effective Serial Number Range below.
This campaign is initiated because MBAG has determined that the mounting bores for the rear axle VSS sensors (L6/3, L6/4) may not be drilled all the way through. As a result, a burr may remain in the bore which may impair the function of the ETS/ASR or ABS.
Effective Serial Number Range
Therefore, on vehicles within the chassis end number range given in the table shown, the mounting bores for the rear axle VSS sensors (L6/3, L6/4) must be de-burred and inspected.
Approximately 600 vehicles are affected. Upon arrival of vehicles for repair, check Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI). A list of vehicles is being sent via MB Net, which contains the vehicles on our record as being in your dealer inventory or sold by your dealer.
