Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair

Preceding work:
- Starter removed.
- Intake manifold support removed.

Connection of cruise control actuator to engine:

Components of cruise control actuator:

Battery ground cable
Detach, connect.

Plug of actuator wiring harness (9)
Remove, connect at connector, cruise control (CC) actuator (M16x1).

Cruise control (CC) actuator (M16) wiring harness
Expose by opening and closing cable conduit (22) at left side of engine compartment, and removing and installing all cable straps.

Attachment bolts M16x15 (13)
Unscrew, screw in.

Cruise control actuator (M16) with bracket (6)
Remove at bottom, install, guiding connecting rod (19) into control mechanism lever (3).

Cable strap (10) on wiring harness at bracket (6)
Remove, install.

Bolts M6x28 (11)
Unscrew, screw in, 12 Nm.

Cruise control actuator (M16)
Remove from bracket (6), install.

Spacers (8) and rubber grommets (7)
Remove from bracket (6), install. Check condition of rubber grommets, if necessary replace.

Tab washer (4)
Unlock, secure.

Attachment nuts M8x1 (5) of the output shaft (1) of actuator (M16)
Unscrew, screw in, 10 Nm.

Tab washer (4) and control mechanism lever (3)
Remove, install.

Note: When installing the output shaft on the cruise control actuator (M16), turn it on the housing opposite to direction of arrow against stop and install control mechanism lever (3).

Nuts M8x1 (2) on the output shaft (1) of actuator (M16)
Unscrew, screw in.

CAUTION: Screw nuts (2) onto the output shaft (1) until the threaded bolt of the output shaft protrudes by 8.5 mm.

Connecting rod (19)
- Adjust. Adjustments
