To improve operating convenience, the central locking system and the anti-theft alarm system can be operated with an infrared transmitter in the key head. In addition, any side windows and the tilting/sliding roof can be closed if still open or the side windows can be opened again within 105 after central closing.

All processes are displayed by feedback lamps. Remote control is possible up to a distance of approx. 6 m with the maximum capacity of the transmitter batteries, remote control of the convenience operation up to a distance of approx. 3 m.

Up to 11/94, (USA) (J) up to 08/95, the receiver units are located next to the driver's door lock cylinder and next to the trunk lid lock cylinder.

As of 12/94, (USA) (J) as of 09/95 the receiver unit with feedback lamps is located on the interior mirror. There is no receiver unit located in the driver's door handle. Only feedback lamps are located here (not (USA) (J)).
