Test Program Notes

The individual test steps (e.g. engine coolant temperature sensor, intake air temperature sensor, etc.) are combined into a Test Program.

If a complaint is verified during engine diagnosis, and there is a reference to an individual test step, perform only that test step and not the entire test program.

Examples of Test program
- Test steps are divided into primary and secondary steps, and are indicated with an arrow "=>"
- Primary test steps are indicated by a numeral ending with ".0".
- Secondary test steps are indicated with an ascending numeral behind the decimal point.
- For an overview of the valid symbols used in the manual, see Explanation of Symbols Used. Explanation of Symbols Used
- When wiring (i.e. open circuit) is listed in the "Possible cause/remedy" column, all connectors between the control module and the component being tested are to be included as a possible failure source.

NOTE: When using the 126-pole Socket Box Tester, see example for a depiction of the socket nomenclature.
