A. Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)

The 5-speed automatic transmission 722.6 utilizes life-fill ATF. If repair work needs to be done to the transmission, it must be filled with an ATF approved for transmission 722.6. The correct fluid is available in 1 Liter containers under part no. 001 989 21 03 10. Please refer to the Factory Approved Service Products pamphlet, S-0473-95H.

B. Parking Lock Repairs

For repair instructions on the parking lock mechanism, refer to the SMS Repair Instructions for S-speed automatic transmission 722.6.





CAUTION!
When removing the bowden cable of the parking lock mechanism, make sure the shift lever and the park lock detent plate (33. Figure 1) are set in the park position. Failure to do so, may cause the connecting rod (2, Figure 1) to break.
