B. Engine 119 / 120 Model Year 1996 With ME - SFI 1.0

Independent diagnosis of the ignition system primary and secondary circuits can be performed with the Bear DACE, Hermann Engine Analyzers D95O/96OS/98O diagnostic engine analyzer. Assessment of the secondary circuit is possible by analyzing the primary image.

A new secondary adapter (Figure 1) which picks up the secondary ignition circuit characteristics is now available This adapter Connects the engine analyzer oscilloscope to the individual ignition coil. The ignition coils have standard cast-on connections (Figure 1) for this new secondary adapter (kilovolt sensor). The primary ignition circuit can also be analyzed using the new primary adapter cable (Figure 2) or by connection of the socket box to the ME-SFI control module.

Note:
The kilovolt sensor (Figure 1) must be inserted completely into the connection slot on the side of the ignition coil.

Connection method and test procedures:
Set engine tester to cylinder=1 and primary pattern and test the circuits one at a time. Refer to socket box connections.
