NEW VMI FIELD - WARRANTY STATUS INDICATOR








The sample Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) shown indicates a new field, WARR STAT, which is the abbreviation for Warranty Status indicator. In the past, 8 status vehicles were indicated by the presence of 8's in the START DATE field of the VMI. As of July 1, the retail date is no longer altered to reflect 8 status... the new field is the only field in which this is indicated. However, due to the amount of vehicles which were reported in 8 status previous to July 1st, some time will be required to change the retail dates back, please be patient. Additionally, we have added new codes, see the table shown for the meaning of each code and what actions will be necessary for your personnel. The WARR STAT field is a two digit field and the following codes may appear in conjunction with one another or by themselves.

Please inform all of your personnel about the WARR STAT field on the VMI.
