IR DAS X Control Module

The purpose of the IR DAS control module is described below:

a - Infrared remote control for central locking
- Receive and evaluate signals from lock switches 1 and 2 from infrared remote control (RCL) module, not model 129

After recognition of valid IR Signal
- Actuation of - Central locking (CL), not model 129
- Anti-theft alarm (ATA), not model 129
- Convenience feature (CF), not model 129
- Remote trunk release (RTR), only models 140 and 202/210 sedan

- Read in and evaluate signals from mechanical lock switches (SN1 - unlock, SN2 - lock), not model 129.

b - Drive authorization stage X
- Control of transponder coil on ignition/starter switch
- Read in and evaluate transponder signal
- Release engine control module via CAN when transponder code is valid

The IR DAS control module (N54/1) evaluates the transponder data received and, when valid, releases the engine control via the CAN bus.
