Cowl Panel - Air Inlet Vibration/Noise

MODIFICATION TO LEFT AND RIGHT AIR INLETS TO
RESOLVE NOISE COMPLAINTS FROM WINDSHIELD AREA

Air travelling over the air inlets and covers, at highway speeds, may cause a high frequency vibration of these components. To resolve this situation, please refer to the procedure below.

Procedure

Remove left air inlet.





1. Remove screw (2, Figure 1).

2. Unclip catches (3) and remove cover (1, Figure 1) toward right.

3. Remove screws (4, Figure 1).

4. Unclip catches (arrows) on air inlet (5, Figure 1).

Remove right A/C air inlet.





5. Remove screw (2, Figure 2).

6. Unclip catches (3) and remove cover (1, Figure 2) toward left.

7. Remove screws (4, Figure 2).

8. Unclip catches (arrows) on air inlet (5, Figure 2).





9. Completely remove rubber lip from left and right air inlets as shown in Figure 3 (example given for right side only).





10. Install foam tape (part no.124 774 0190) onto left cover (1, Figure 1) and right cover (1, Figure 2) over entire length where the cover meets the windshield, as shown by dotted line (arrows, Figure 4) (example given for left side only).

11. Reinstall all parts in reverse order.
