Cranking Engine With Starter

NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

1. Ensure ignition switch is OFF.
2. Remove cover (2) over engine component compartment.
3. Unplug plug of connector (X22/2) terminal 50
4. Connect adapter cable (01) 124 589 36 63 00 to connector (X22/2) terminal 50.
5. Open cover of connector (X12/3)
6. Clamp terminal of compression tester 001 589 77 21 00 to connector (X12/3) terminal 30.
7. connect adapter cable (01) to cable of compression tester.
8. Crank engine by pressing contact switch (arrow) at compression tester, in idle speed position and hand-brake applied.

CAUTION: Do not crank engine at ignition/starter switch.
