IR DAS 2a Control Module (Up to 6/96)

The DAS infrared control module performs the following functions:
a) Infrared remote central locking
- Receipt and evaluation of infrared remote control signal

After recognition of valid IR signal
- Actuation of - Central locking (CL)
- Anti-theft alarm (ATA)
- Convenience feature (CF)
- Confirmation on interior rearview mirror
- Confirmation via turn signals (models 170/202/210 via additional relay)

- Reading in and evaluating the mechanical lock switches (SN1-unlock, SN2-lock), (only (USA) (J))

b) Drive authorization system stage 2a (DAS2a)
- Actuation of transponder coil on ignition/starter switch
- Reading and evaluating transponder signal
- Release of engine control module via CAN with valid transponder code

The DAS infrared control module (N54/1) evaluates the transponder data transferred and, if valid, releases the engine control via the CAN data bus.
