Radiator: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
- Remove fan shroud (1), install.
- Drain coolant from radiator. Service and Repair
- Disconnect coolant hoses (10, 11, 12), connect.
- Unbolt ATF pipes (7) and (8) of automatic transmission, bolt on.
Tighten to: 20 Nm.
NOTE: Seal ATF pipes (7) and (8) with shop made fitting.
- Remove fan grille (20), install.
- Pull off flat springs (15) upward, fit on.
- Unbolt front member cross panel (2), bolt on.
- Detach cable of hood lock at cross panel (2), attach.
- Remove intake air scoop (22), install.
- Unbolt condenser at radiator (4), bolt on.
- Lift out radiator (4), install.
NOTE: The securing studs of the radiator must engage in the rubber pads (19) of the bottom cross member when installed.
- Fill cooling system.
- Check ATF level of automatic transmission, adjust to correct level.
- Check cooling system for leaks. Testing and Inspection
Torque Specifications:
ATF hose of automatic transmission to radiator (union nut): 20 Nm
Hose clips (reference value): 2.5 Nm
Drain plug of radiator (reference value): 1.5 Nm
