INSTALLATION OF CELLULAR TELEPHONE (CTEL) SYSTEM

Included in this Service Information is Work Instructions no. 361 for installation of the cellular telephone (CTEL) system in model year 1997 model 129 and 140 vehicles.

NAM Programming Guide S-2503-M95 is valid for M.Y. 1997 model 129, 140 vehicles with Mobile CTEL (for use with core kit no. Q 6 82 0180).

NAM Programming Guide S-2503-P95 is valid for M.Y. 1997 model 129, 140 vehicles with Portable CTEL (for use with core kit no. Q 6 82 0182).

Registration:

Installation of all MB cellular telephone (CTEL) Systems must be reported to MBNA. Installation prior to or at time of retail MUST be recorded through VISTA when the vehicle sale is reported. However, once the vehicle has been reported sold, all subsequent installations must be registered by sending a CELLULAR TELEPHONE INSTALLATION/WARRANTY REGISTRATION form to Mercedes-Benz of North America, Inc., Warranty Operations. Please photocopy forms shown in section 3 of the Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual.

If the installation of a MB cellular telephone is not registered with MBNA Warranty Operations, future claims for the unit will be denied.

Note:
The transfer of a telephone system from one vehicle to another, voids the warranty.
