A. Programming the Garage Door Opener

1. Prepare for programming by erasing all three factory defaults by holding down the two outside transmitter buttons (arrows, Figure 2) until the amber LED begins to flash (20-30 seconds). Release both buttons.

2. Hold the end of the hand-held transmitter against the transmitter in the interior rearview mirror (Figure 3), keeping the amber LED within view.

3. Using both hands, push the hand-held transmitter button and the desired transmitter button to be programmed on the interior rearview mirror transmitter (arrows, Figure 4). Do not release either button at this time. Hold both buttons until the amber LED in the interior rearview mirror transmitter flashes (Figure 4), first slowly. then rapidly. When the amber LED flashes rapidly, release both buttons at the same time.

Rapid flashing of the amber LED indicates a successful programming procedure.

4. Repeal steps 2 and 3 as necessary, to program the two remaining transmitter buttons (channels), if so desired.

Note:
If after repeated attempts, you are unable to successfully program the transmitter, the garage door opener may be equipped with "rolling code" security. This can be established by either of the following:

^ The hand-held transmitter appears to program the universal transmitter, but thereafter the vehicle's universal transmitter does not activate the garage door.

^ The garage door opener was manufactured after 1995, with "Rolling Code Feature".
