NAM Programming

A. Preparation

1. Turn telephone ON.

2. When "Power On" appears in display, press Rcl and Menu simultaneously. The display will show "NAM Code:".

3. Enter 10 digit programming password (*-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-# ) A dash "-" will appear as each digit is entered. Steps 2 and 3 must be completed within 20 seconds after "Power On" display.

4. When the correct code is entered the display will indicate the software version on the top line and the ESN in the box on the bottom line.

5. Press arrow down key

"Tel. Num. 1 Program" appears, followed by 111-111-0111.

B. To enter NAM 1

1. Enter complete telephone number with area code. Press Sto then arrow down key.

2. "Phone # 1: A key?" followed by "Enter A - key Number" appears. If carrier requires authentication enter code number. Press Sto then arrow down. If authentication is not required press arrow down.

3. Enter System ID Number (System ID), Press Sto then arrow down.

4. Initial Paging Channel (IPCH) value predetermined by System ID Number, Press arrow down.

5. Enter Access Overload Class (ACCOLO # ), Press Sto then arrow down.

6. Group ID Mark (GIM), Press Sto then arrow down.

7. Press "Clr" once. "Tel. Num. 2 Program" will appear. If a second and/or third number are to be entered, continue with NAM 2 and/or NAM 3 programing. If only one number is to be programmed, press arrow down twice while "Tel. Num. 2 Program" is displayed until "Emergency #: 911" is displayed. Continue with section 0D

C. To enter NAM 2 and/or NAM 3

1. Enter complete telephone number with area code, Press Sto then arrow down.

2. "Phone # 2 (or # 3) A - key?" followed by "Enter A - key Number" appears. If carrier requires authentication enter code number, press Sto then arrow down. If authentication is not required, press arrow down.

3. Enter System ID Number (System ID), Press Sto then arrow down.

4. Initial Paging Channel (IPCH) value predetermined by System ID Number, Press arrow down.

5. Enter Access Overload Class (ACCOLC # ), Press Sto then arrow down.

6. Enter Group ID Mark (GIM). Press C once to change the emergency number (see below for details) or to proceed with NAM 3 Prg, or press C twice rapidly to exit NAM2 Program mode. "Power On" appears and the telephone is ready for use.

D. Following completion of NAM 1, NAM 2 and NAM 3 (as required), press arrow down to continue with NAM options programming.

1. "Emergency #: 911" appears. If 911 is the desired number, press arrow down. If a number other than 911 is desired, enter the number, press Sto then arrow down.

2. "Clear Mem. Locations" appears followed by "To Reset Press". Press" "*" to clear memory locations 0 - 99, then press arrow down. If you do not wish to clear memory locations, press arrow down.

3. "Default Data Set" appears, followed by "To Reset Press". Press "*" to reset all "USER MENU FEATURES" to their factory settings, then press arrow down. If you do not want to reset user menu features press arrow down.

4. "Unlock No. 1234" appears.

To change the code, enter a 4 - digit code then press Sto. Press arrow down to continue. If you do not wish to change the code, press arrow down.

5. "Language Option" appears, followed by the current selection. To change the display language. press "RCL" to view the options (English or Spanish), then press Sto when your desired selection appears. Press arrow down to continue.

Note:
Only the display language is selectable. The Voice Activation Dialer (VAD) language is always English.

6. "Option Bit" appears.

Enter the appropriate 8 - digit code from the table on page 1 Press Sto to save. then press arrow down to continue.

7. "Pers. Pref." appears.

Do not change these settings (000 11 000). Press arrow down to continue.

8. "Car Config." appears.

The normal setting is 000 10 100. To disable the Voice Activated Dialer, set to 000 00 100. then press Sto.

NAM programming is now complete. Press CLR. "Power On" will appear.
