Cabin Air Filter / Purifier: Service Precautions

Special precautions must be observed to prevent damage to the activated charcoal filter when cleaning or painting the vehicle. Mask off the air inlet with plastic prior to using any dewaxers, paints, or solvents near the interior compartment ventilation intake duct and engine hood louvers. If this precaution is not observed, the solvents or other fluids and their vapors may destroy the activated charcoal filter.

NOTE: The activated charcoal filter cannot be cleaned.
