Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair








Battery
Disconnect negative pole.

Air conditioner
Empty (recycling)

Protective grille
Remove, 2 clips (1), 2 screw clips (2).

Electrical plug connection (M4x1, M4x2)
Disconnect and remove cable (4 clips).

Raise vehicle
Open the left opening in the bumper.

Bracket for pressure line
Remove (1 nut)

Pressure line for condenser
Remove and seal openings (parts set 140 830 01 27).

Upper pressure line
Unscrew at condenser and seal openings (parts set 140 830 01 27).

Radiator with condenser
Remove.

3 bolts (4)
Unscrew.

11 clips (94)
Press out and remove frame (90).

Connections M4x1, M4x2
Unclip.

5 bolts (84)
Unscrew and remove auxiliary fan.

2 bolts (3)
Unscrew and remove condenser from radiator.

Install
In reverse sequence, lubricating the connection thread with compressor oil (refer to note below).

Receiver dehydrator
Renew. Service and Repair

Air conditioner
Evacuate, refill, check function and check for leaks; run engine at idle speed only in the first 4 minutes.

NOTE: If the condenser is not reinstalled immediately, flush out the condenser with nitrogen. Then seal the connector with plugs. When renewing the condenser, fill it with 20 cubic cm compressor oil.

NOTE: Parts which have come into contact with compressor oil for R12 or R134a may only be installed in systems operating with the same refrigerant.
