Campaign - Spare Wheel Warning Label

SPARE WHEEL WARNING LABEL
In the event the spare wheel is installed using the wheel bolts just removed from the flat tire; damage to the axle and spare wheel, and personal injury may occur. To alert the person changing the tire that it is necessary to use the special wheel bolts located in the vehicle tool kit, a warning label is now available (see sample below, actual label will measure approximately: 191 X 19 mm).
The label must be installed at the next scheduled maintenance or service.
!Only use wheel bolts in tool kit. See owner's manual. S-2677-097 Failure to do so may result in vehicle dama9e and / or personal injury.
Installation procedure:
1. Remove spare wheel.
2. Affix the label (A, Figure 1) on the spare wheel in a position similar to the other warning labels of the same size.
!IMPORTANT!
^ Surface must be clean, dry, and not colder than 50°F.
^ Clean area with rubbing alcohol if necessary.
^ Peel off backing and apply label to proper location (A, Figure 1).
^ Complete bonding of label takes place in 72 hours.
3. Reinstall the spare wheel into the trunk.
4. After completing the procedure, mark the back of the spare wheel, near the tire valve (arrow, Figure 2) with touch-up paint (select a color which is easily visible).
Note:
Each dealer will receive an initial supply of warning labels with this SI, which will equal 150 % of vehicles sold by the respective dealer.
